A tropical plant like the Fiddle Leaf Fig will grow quickly and take center stage in a room where you need to enhance your design with visual interest created by height. I think that’s why we see one so often adorning a sunny spot in a family room.

Check your local nursery for the many varieties of trees that thrive indoors. And don’t forget to grab a cute basket or plant stand to house the newest member of your household.

The trend of hanging plants has brought back the macrame look that’s been absent in home décor for several decades! You can find plant hangers in almost any home goods store, but there’s also the option of handcrafting one with the help of an online tutorial.

Look around your home for a sunny spot that could use the lively touch of a couple of hanging plants. I suggest displaying one longer than the other and using hardware that anchors your hooks.

And don’t forget the tip of lightening the load of your potted plant by filling the bottom half of your planter with packing peanuts. Add the soil directly to the top of them and move it all around as needed to pot the plant. You shouldn’t see the packing peanuts , so if any are peeking out, you’ll want to empty the pot and start over using less of them.

Some plants like the Zamifolia are low-light tolerant, so darker rooms also can showcase natural beauty.

If you have a mantle, you have a perfect plant shelf! Play around with your arrangement of accent pieces and placement of the plants. Stacked books can serve to elevate your potted plant for visual interest. Consider going from taller to shorter heights as you arrange your décor pieces, working from the outside-in.

A plant cluster makes an impressive statement, and the secret lies in varying heights and in continuity of color choice for vessels. White combined with natural tones is a crowd favorite, as it speaks a message of clean and natural.

Bedroom Décor

Bedroom Décor

I’m on a mission to create a cluster in the far corner of my bedroom. I like the idea of plants working to filter the air while hubby and I sleep!

I think many people worry about adding real plants to rooms with carpet because of potential watering leaks. Your local nursery can help you create water-tight containers so you have the confidence of beautifying your home without damaging it.

Follow along with me on Instagram for updates on the Master Bedroom. I’m excited about watching my pop of plant color reach new heights in this room!
